1) Dark Circles:

If you have dark circles under your eyes, it suggests you’re not getting enough sleep. Sleep deprivation impacts most areas of our lives. Our cognitive functions are depleted and we find it hard to concentrate. We feel sluggish and our response times are much slower. Make sure you factor in some time for sleep. Aim for eight hours a night.

In the meantime, you need to cover up those dark circles. Because our eyes have lots of fine lines, it’s important to use a light concealer. Dryer or heavier formulas will seep into the lines and will be visible. Only apply the concealer to the dark circles and not the whole area under the eye. Concealers with a yellow base work best on dark circles, as they act on the blue and grey tones. Use a colour that is a little lighter than your natural skin tone.

2) Dental Issues:

Most dental issues require professional advice.  Dentists such as http://amazingdentistry.com/advanced-technology/precision-dentistry/ can help with a wide range of issues. Advances in technology mean that most problems can now be corrected. Methods are less invasive and many procedures can be completed within a short space of time.

Some superficial issues have quick fixes. For breath issues, keep a breath spray in your handbag. Apply a quick spritz to disguise strong food odours. It’s worth noting that persistent bad breath could a symptom of a medical issue. So always check with your dentist or doctor.

Another common issue is food in the teeth. You’ve just had a lunch and you have a meeting in ten minutes. Keep a toothbrush in your bag for in-between brushes. And if you don’t have time to brush, give them a quick rub with a dental wipe.

3) Spots:

Spots and blemishes always occur at the wrong time. You either have an interview, an important meeting or a new date. In the long term, you need to address what is causing them. It could be your diet, beauty products or hormones. In the short term cover them up. Apply your foundation in the usual way.Choose a tone that complements your skin. Next, use a concealer that is the same tone as your foundation. Use a brush to apply it to the spot. Don’t rub it in. Make sure it covers the spot fully. Use a light powder to set it.

4) Redness:

There are several causes of red skin. It could be a temporary issue due to the weather. Or, it could be a condition such as rosacea, etc. Moisturise your skin in the usual way. If the area is uneven, you may want to apply a primer before applying makeup. Before applying your usual foundation, use a green concealer. Light, liquid formulas work well. The green pigment will act on the red tones in your skin to conceal them. Lastly, apply your foundation. Avoid using blusher as it will accentuate the issue.

5) Dull Complexion:

Skin can often look dull after the winter months. For a quick pick-me-up, apply your base makeup in the usual way. Then sweep a pink or peach blush over the cheeks. Use a shade that is similar to your skin colour. Apply a highlighter over the cheekbones.

As a general rule, skin that is well hydrated appears glowing and radiant. So make sure you drink enough water. Opt for hydrating moisturisers and serums to perk up skin that looks lifeless.

6) Dry Skin:

There are many causes of dry skin, including the weather, dehydration and beauty products. Addressing the cause may take a little time. But in the short-term, flaking skin can be difficult to conceal. It can also make your makeup appear cakey.

Apply a gentle exfoliator to ease away dry, flaking skin. Rub gently, especially if you have sensitive skin. Then moisturise. Allow your moisturiser to seep in before applying your base.

7) Flyaway Hair:

Do you have a few fine flyaway hairs that are constantly escaping your ponytail or bun? Coax them back into place with a small amount of hair wax. You only need a tiny amount. Rub it between your fingers first and then work it into your hair.

8) Dry Chapped Hands:

There are many causes of dry, chapped hands. There’s no quick solution to this, especially if your hands are sore. Apply a good hand cream or emollient to soothe the soreness. For less severe problems, such as flaking skin, use a gentle exfoliant. Afterwards, moisturise liberally.

9) Chapped Lips:

Flaking skin on chapped lips can be removed using a gentle lip scrub. Buy an over-the-counter version or make it yourself. For a quick and simple recipe use honey and sugar. Rub it gently over the lips and then rinse away. Next, apply a lip balm.

10) Dull, Lifeless Hair:

Sometimes, despite our best efforts, our hair appears dull and lifeless. If you have time, wash your hair using a moisturising shampoo and conditioner. Massage your scalp gently to stimulate the roots. If you’re in a rush, then brush some dry shampoo into the roots. To add instant shine, apply a hair glaze.

11) Dry Feet and Heels:

Dry feet and heels is a common problem that occurs in the summer months. Our feet lose moisture as we take off socks and panti-hose. Worse areas are the heels which can crack when they dry out. To fix this, use a foot scrub to remove dead skin cells. Use a pumice stone on hard skin. After exfoliating, massage the feet using foot lotion. There are many products that focus on repairing cracked heels.

Many beauty problems can be prevented by adhering to a healthy lifestyle. A good diet and plenty of exercise will be evident in a glowing complexion and glossy hair. However, environmental factors can also take their toll. Fixing issues is often about determining the cause and taking steps to correct that. And in the meantime, we have several tips and tricks to disguise or conceal the problem.
