Preparing Your Feet for Winter

Most of us dread winter and for very good reason. As much as winter can be a sign of good things – Christmas and a brand new year for example, it is also a sign that cold weather is here to stay for a good few months! If you are someone that hates winter, then you are not alone.

On top of the fact the weather is horrible to deal with, our bodies don’t like cold weather very much either. Most of us assume that when it comes to cold weather and our bodies it is the skin on our face that suffers. Whilst this can be the case, it is important to take care of our feet too.

As much as we all try to avoid it, our feet are bound to be battered by the cold weather. When your feet are constantly in and out of the bound, wrapped up with toasty socks and sometimes getting wet it stands to reason that they’re going to suffer. So how can you look after your feet?

Invest in Good Foot Cream

Without a doubt you need to make sure that you invest in a good foot cream. You should make sure that you put this on your feet once a day, in the mornings before you leave the house is best. Once a week you should put a thick layer of this on your feet, place your socks over the top and go to bed. This gives a good few hours for the cream to soak into the skin on your feet and help them look and feel as good as possible.

Treat Them Right

If you want your feet to be happy then you need to treat them right. As well as regular foot cream applications you need to ensure that you look after them throughout the day. A big part of this is making sure that you wear the right footwear and not shoes that rub your feet. If your shoes get wet in the winter rain then these will just make your feet sore if they rub too much.

To be honest with you, when it comes to looking after your feet it doesn’t matter what time of year it is. You should be taking care of your feet all year round to ensure that they are always in their tip-top condition.  In winter you just need to be a little more aware of dry skin, but a good slather of foot cream regularly should help with this.
